New Orleans Styled Wedding Shoot at Il Mercato

GUYS. I’ve wanted to share this post forever – but I’ve been tracking down some of these photos and moving and yada yada. A few years ago I drug Chase from Chattanooga to New Orleans for the first time to explore the city and play dress up with an incredibly talented group of vendors. This styled wedding shoot was an absolute dream. I think a local photographer was looking for models last minute, and neither of us had been to NoLa before – win win!

Being in the industry myself, I am normally behind the scenes setting up, knocking out BEOs, or giving venue tours to potential brides. This was such a special and fun experience to be a part of this photoshoot at Il Mercato!

We were one of the 3ish couples, along with a few other bride and bridesmaid models who got dolled up by Verde Beauty and shot around the stunning Il Mercato wedding venue. The whole styled shoot was put together and planned by Taylor’d Southern Events.

The New Orleans open container laws in the downtown area meant that during the photographer switches we could run across the street to a local bar, take large gulps, then hide the evidence behind the incredible floral work designed by Kim Starr Wise. *wink*

I was the lucky one that got to wear this dusty purple floral gown from Olivia Bowen Bridal instead of traditional white – it was AWESOME since my own wedding dress was white, and now I have these pictures to also look back on. There were about 25 photographers in total, so we ended up with an array of styles and editing.

The below has definitely been my screen saver since we received the photos back from Sarah Mattix Photography. We were blown away by how beautiful the venue was. I lucked out in a dress – what you do not see here was that it is 90+ degrees in June and poor Chase was stuck in the tux all day… sorry babe.

One more moment for the dress; you can see due to the style how funky and gorgeous this dress by Olivia Bowen Bridal is!

This was personally such an all-star trip for me, we were also engaged at the time so playing dress up in wedding attire definitely added sparkle to this season for me. Links below if you fell in love with anyone’s style like I did. Cheers!
